Can I view the caravans available before I commit to hire?
Sure, caravans can be inspected (by appointment only) at our depot in Mile End, Monday to Friday 10am – 4pm (excluding public holidays).

What are the upfront costs?
All vans require a $200 bond (refundable at conclusion of hire) First two weeks hire fees Power cord fee $25 Delivery fee (Starting at $60)

Please note: Upfront costs must be received prior to delivery.  Caravans remain available for hire until funds are received.

How are payments made?
By electronic funds transfer or  credit card via PayPal – COMING SOON – see our Payments Page

What do caravans come with?

Caravans all come with a fridge and microwave/electric cooking as standard.  Mattresses are supplied.  Caravans do not come with crockery, cutlery, or bedding.  These can be provided by arrangement at an additional cost.

How is power provided to the caravan?
Caravans are powered by 240V electricity. Legally, the supply must be 15amps to a van though most homes only deliver 10amp supply. For an upfront fee of $25 a converter with built in safety switch and an extension lead (10, 20, or 30 metres) can be provided for the duration of your hire

Do you service rural areas?
We can service regional areas of South Australia, however there may be additional costs for delivery and hire. Please feel free to give us a call to see if we can help with a solution.

How does the insurance work?
There is $200 bond payable upon initial hire. If the van is damaged the hirer if financially liable for the repair or the insurance, which ever is less. The hirer is responsible for any damage done to their van whilst on hire to them.

Can I use CentrePay and claim rent assistance from Centrelink?
There are a range of options available to customers receiving Centrelink benefits. Please feel welcome to contact our friendly staff to discuss how we can help.

I’m not sure whether the space I have for the caravan is suitable?
Ideally the space for setting up caravans is a flat and solid surface. You will need to consider whether the van will fit under any carports you might have also. If you need some help you are welcome to text us pictures and call us to discuss your proposed site. Please note: Caravans cannot be parked on residential streets due to council regulations – they must be on private land.

I’m renting, do I need approval from my landlord?
It is the responsibility of the hirer to gain approval from their landlord if applicable. We strongly recommend you talk to them and gain approval in writing. If a caravan is required to be removed due to non-approval, a break of contract fee is charged and the van is collected.

How do I end the contract if I need to?
If you have already completed the full term of your hire you are only required to provide us with two weeks’ notice of when you would like the caravan collected. If you decide to terminate the agreement before the completion date the $200 bond will be forfeited.

What are the rules on using cooking and washing up facilities?
LPG cooking and the use of sinks are not allowed by council regulations if the caravan is parked on residential land. We can supply electric cook tops, kettles, and microwaves for use if required. Each caravan comes with a fridge.

What are the other general rules?
Pets – pets are permitted in vans though the hirer is financially responsible for any damage caused or any extra cleaning that may be required.
Smoking – No smoking at any time in caravans. Cleaning fees will apply for non-compliance.

Can I tow or reposition the caravan myself?
Caravans must be towed or repositioned by Adelaide Affordable Caravan Hire staff only. If a caravan is required to be repositioned whilst on-hire, this will attract an additional fee.
